HIMCR #82- Mix it Up! Valentines!

This week we received a cute kit of images from Sherri Baldy  - this week's sponsor at Hiding in My Craft Room.  I printed one out then fussy cut the girl and the title to put on my card.  I cut the card with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to 8.5" x 5.5".  The heart is from the Sweethearts cartridge (2.2x4.7) and I slanted it a little bit before cutting to give it a more elongated shape.  The paper is MME - Bohemia.  I added a couple of Prima flowers and Making Memories heart shaped brads to the heart and some frosted lace stickles on the girl's necklace and heart headband.

Be sure to head over to Hiding in My Craft Room to see all the other sweet projects our design team crafted this week!

Project Life - week 2

Yes, I am already behind!  Here is my page for week two.  Not much really happened that week other than plain old boring life so I found this great quote to go along with a challenge at Scrapbook Challenges and then tagged the few things that happened that week.

I used a mix of papers from my scraps bin but the base is Sailor Knots by Bazzill Basics.  The gem flourish is from Close to My Heart, the flowers and pearls are Prima and the journal spots are October Afternoon. Thanks for looking!

A Baby Card

Jim's brother and his wife had a baby on Sunday so I made this cute card today to send to them!  I pulled scrap paper out of my ever growing, over flowing bin and used the Cricut to cut the onesie from the Cricut Craft Room Basics, the phrase 'baby' from Simply Sweet and the flag from the Art Philosophy cartridges.  I used a sentiment from Stampin Up on the little flag.  I really like how it came together!  Thanks for looking!

HIMCR #81 - Tags!

Hi again everyone!  This week at Hiding in My Craft Room the focus is on tags.  I made a cute, simple tag with the word Love and then used it as part of my title on this layout with me and my sweetheart.  We celebrated 20 years last year and visited the temple where we were married.  I wanted to capture that moment and how much I love this crazy man of mine! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to head over to Hiding in My Craft Room to link us up!

HIMCR #80 - Super Scraps Saturday!

Happy Super Scraps Saturday!  It is one of my favorite scrappy days of the week :-D I have a gazillion scraps - even though I cleaned them out just a few months ago.  I swear those scraps reproduce themselves when I'm not looking!

This week I needed a card for a special birthday next week.  I absolutely LOVE this Happy Birthday banner from the Cricut Close to My Heart Artiste Collection.  I cut the banner at 1 1/4" and the cupcake at 2" with my Cricut then stamped with the image.  Ink is from Close to My Heart as well - Topiary, Smoothie, Lagoon, Buttercup and Tulip.  The papers were scraps I found in my bin.  I added a little Frosted Lace stickles for some bling.

Thanks for looking and be sure to visit us at Hiding in My Craft Room to share what you've been creating!

Clean and Simple

I really like the sketches and designs over at CAS(E) this Sketch so I decided to join in with this week's challenge.    I used Unity Stamp Co. stamps from the "Fall for You" Kit.  I love Unity stamps!!  Ink came from Close to my Heart - topiary, buttercup, twilight and chocolate with stampin up so saffron as well.

In case you want to play along here is this week's sketch:

Project Life: Week One

I used up a scrap for the background chevron, the birdies paper is from Michaels.  The journal tags are Heidi Swapp, the orange tag is Smash, the other ephemera are small things I've had jumbled in my various baskets for a few years now.  I really need to use up my stash!

HIMCR #79 - Black, White and 1 Color

Happy New Year!!  This year I decided to embark on a "Project Life" adventure.  I don't know how effective I will be at documenting each week like I intend but if I don't give it a shot I'll never know!  The goal is to make one layout a week that sums up that week's events, happenings and general life.  I have a Bo Bunny 9x9 album that I have never used that will be perfect for this project.  I plan on using 8.5x11 page protectors cut down to 8.5x8.5 so the layouts will be slightly smaller than the album calls for - as soon as I can find my page protectors!  I may have to buy more.

This week at Hiding in My Craft Room the challenge is to use black, white and just one other color.  This week I chose a pretty turquoise or light teal shade of blue.  It is my favorite color at the moment!  I made the 'title' page for my Project Life album.

The ribbon is leftover from my daughter's wedding and the paper is a scrap I had in my basket.  I dug around and found some Maya Road clear journaling tags.  The one I chose says 'then and now' which I thought was just perfect!  I found some glittery Thickers in my stash for the numbers and added a couple of Prima flowers with EK Success pearls as centers.  I love how it came together!

Be sure to link us up with your creations and let us see what you come up with!

We are Family

Today I want to share the layout I did last night for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge!  The challenge is to use 3 pattern papers, 3 embellishments and a 3 word title.  It was a little tricky for me but I love how it came out!  I used the sketch over at the Silhouette Blog for inspiration.

Here is a close up of the butterfly.  I used my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge (click to get your own!) to cut the butterfly then added some Stampin Up Crystal Effects to give it that epoxy look.  The pink wings lift up a little bit too adding some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by! If you decide to play along please leave me a comment with a link - I'd love to see it!
